Job Summary
Install, repair, or replace single-ply roofing systems, using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric, or other asphaltic compositions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Comfortably and safely work on flat surfaces at various heights
- Climb various types of ladders
- Unload materials from truck and load materials onto roof via ladder, crane, or boom truck
- Clear debris and old roofing material from roof
- Remove and replace any damaged underlayment
- Fasten new insulation material to roof
- Unroll and affix roofing material
- Clear out gutters and drains
- Become familiar with the scope of work and the materials being utilized. Follow all design and manufacturer specifications
- Maintain communications with the foreman or leadsman of any questions, necessary deviations, or required documentation
- Take necessary steps to protect jobsite surroundings from damage while maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
- Be aware and follow the acting “Roof Monitor”
- Be aware of all first aid, safety equipment, MSDS information, and any project specific safety procedures
- Assist with the use and care of all company equipment & materials. Take appropriate steps to notify foreman or office staff of any damage or necessary maintenance
- Take necessary steps to ensure that all projects are left in a neat, orderly, and water-tight manner at the end of each day
- Ability to lift and carry 80lbs.
- Read a tape measure
- Able to use basic hand and power tools
- Accustom to working outdoors
- Capable of bending over, kneeling, or standing for extended periods
- Positive attitude and willingness to work with a team
- Follow all company policies including job specific roofing precautions
